We have several machines putting out fuser sc codes with up to date firmware and new thermistors/bracket. We also had a machine with fuser rollers melted together - ricoh was interested and send their product specialist to the machine. At the end he had no idea what may have caused it - the thermistors, connectors etc. was properly in place. This "worst case" was a one-timer so far but it's still strange..

Before you start replacing thermistors, check the voltage to the equipment. I have seen voltage drops to 108VAC can upset logic and throw various fuser temp SC codes. The new thermistors AW100131 and AW100132 are thinner as to not allow toner/paper dust buildup and and cause SC542, etc.Comment

This is what I have been doing and it WORKS EVERY TIME. Replace the thermitors like stated in the bulletine.
Change these SP Modes:
SP1107 to 195
1902-2 lower to 15
1902-3 raise to 3.0
1907-1 through 4 make sure idling on
3904 set to "2"
I use #6S washers from home depot or whatever hardware store you have around and remove the two screws on the fusing connector and use two of these washers stacked on each of the screws. Put everything back together in machine and problem will go away for good.I have done this on several machines and so far its been a few months since this code appeared and used to be once a day.Comment

Re: MP6500 / 6000 / 6001 etc Fuser codes
Got some information today: There's a problem with the construction of the fuserlamps. The temp difference between rear and center gives SC542. Let's wait and see if Ricoh replaces the lamps or allows a greater tolerance between rear and center trough new firmware.Comment

Re: MP6500 / 6000 / 6001 etc Fuser codes
Have a MP9001 with 650K on it. Started codes 545 first thing in the morning on Power up. Reset it and works fine the rest of the day. New t-misters,(center one is a non-contact) Heat roll, washers in the connector, new lamps. It's a 208-220V machine and the voltage at the wall is 202-203V. Firmware is updated. Put in a lot of the SPmode fixes in. Book says +-10% on the wall voltage. The math works. but the machine don't. Book sez 545 is:
After hot roller reaches warmuptemperature, the fusing lampsremained on at full capacity for11 samplings (1.8 s. duration)while the hot roller was notrotating.
Thermistor damaged, or out of
positionFusing lamp disconnected
Overtemp from a disconnected lamp? There I was, 20.000ft. surrounded by commies, no fuel, shot to hell, cockpit panel fire, in an inverted tailspin, and I had to pee...Comment

Re: MP6500 / 6000 / 6001 etc Fuser codes
It can happen in cold rooms, takes too long to warm up. If nothing else, ask the operator to turn in on in the am, count to 5 and turn it off. Then turn it on again and the prewarm may take care of it. Not too sure of the time before the code kicks in. May also be a PSU but that is remotesigpic
