    Savin 2545 bypass madness

    Ok.. here goes.

It always (well 99% of the time) jams at tray 1 transport sensor. SMC shows it jaming at the registration sensor. Cleaned feed rolls in bypass, swapped the bypass with a known good one. Still jams. Replaced the relay clutch and registration clutch. Still jams. Swapped transport sensors..can you guess what happened? I have no idea what else to do. It acts like a clutch issue but it always stops at the same place (except for the few times when it does work). I have no problems with any of the other trays, so that takes me back to the bypass.. UGH!! I hate this machine.

do the jam occur in print mode and also in copy mode?

Did you set the bypass sheet format correctly?

Its used only as a copier so I have not tried in printer mode. I have tried setting the paper size on the bypass tray and it does that same thing.

Have you tried the paper type setting, i.e. thick stock etc?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

the bypass assy is driven from within the copier, if i remember correctly, its a "zwischentransportroller" (i don't know how to translate it in english correctly, i think, its a pre registration roller) check the clutch, which drives it, i think its the AX200138, parts catalog side 58, Drive section2, part nr 19

I did try changing that clutch.. I did finally get it to work by changing the clutch that is in the bypass itself. (I don't have the part number in front of me)
