    ricoh 2032 sc 995

i have ricoh 2032 that was first giving a sc 819 which most likely needed a firmware update. a coleague engineer decided to take a controller board unit out of a another machine in the warehouse to replace the one at the customers. when this was replaced the machine started giving a sc 995. which in the manual states that it is the wrong controller unit. par numbers were checked and both had the same part number.
    B089 5303
    Contoroller Board Sub Ass'y (B097)

the harddrive was disconnected. the nvram was swapped over.

previously wev had no problems with this machine in the past.

I'm going to assume a type-o in the post title and that it should read 2022 as the model.

    From the manual
    "Machine Type Information Error
After the machine is powered on, a
mismatch is detected between the CPM
information sent from the controller to
the engine. The controller boards of the
    B089 (22 cpm) and B94 (27 cpm) are
    not interchangeable."

I'd put the original board back in and see if the 819 returns. Next step would be to update all the firmware to the latest and greatest.

Just checked out the parts guide and found this

      5 B089 5301 Controller Board Sub Ass'y (B089) 1
      5 B089 5302 Controller Board Sub Ass'y (B093) 1
      5 B089 5303 Controller Board Sub Ass'y (B097) 1

I'm assuming you need the B0895301 and you've got the 03. Hope this helps.

the controller board was taken out of a 2027 to fit in a 2032, part numbers are the same. machine came up with an sc 995. swapped it back and got an sc 819 which was the original problem. can a bicu sort this 819?

Part numbers aren't the same according to my parts manual (check previous post, I C&P'd that right out of the manual).

Error on the 819 says kernel error and recommends updating the firmware. Have you done this already?

its the same when the hdd is disconnected.

i was told by someone that i would also have to replace bicu board aswell if i was to change the controller. i havent tried it yet because its a long way i have to go, so i want to make sure i have everything right before i go.

I had this problem on a Ricoh 1035. I updated the firmware. But also, it turned out that this only happened when two PC's sent jobs to the machine, the rest of there PC's were fine. I haven't had any comebacks on this one. So either the firmware sorted it or they sorted their PC's out.....

I'm sure there is a bulletin out on this fault that recommends you upgrade the firmware.....that's the sc819/818 error
