Don't know alot about how the Richo's scan to SMB but I have had similar problems on other brands of machines as well.
Usually what the problem is, is that when the network has been connected, people choose 'Public Location' as the network they are attached to. This will basically turn off all file and print sharing and lock down the PC as far as it can to prevent other people in the pulic network from accessing your PC. You can change this by going into the Network and Sharing Centre and change the location to either 'Home Network' or 'Work Network'. You should then be able to re-enable file sharing from the Network and Sharing Centre.
Just as the other thread also suggests, some Anti-Virus products can be obtrusive and stop other network devices from sharing files with the PC as well.Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.Comment
