I am having a similar problem on an MP5000. Wonder if they have a faulty batch of Dev?

Have you checked your drum ground. Have had several that was not making a good connection. Installed a old ft6655 dum ground and installed new devo, and have had good cq for the last 200k.

Good call.... 75%+ that's the problem. If the resistance between the shaft and the "earth" contact is more that a few ohms it will screw up the process control.
