    Ricoh 2228C NVRAM request

    Hi
Does anybody out there have access to a Ricoh 2228C in good operating condition that they could upload the NVRAM off and send it to me? I have one with suspect NVRAM and would like to replace it with NVRAM from a machine that is known to be in good working condition. I need this as soon as possible if anyone has a machine out there as this is driving me crazy!
    Thanks to all
    Bill

We have a few of these in the field and maybe a good one that we rent out. The Firmware is backed up via SD Card or the PCMCIA Card? Been a while since I've done any work on them. They are good machines for the most part.

NVRAM settings are generally unique to the individual machine, so I doubt an NVRAM backup from another machine will be of much value. If you must, you can do an NVRAM clear and re-input the SP's from the machine's 'birth certificate' assuming you have that...

Yeah what I was thinking. Settings are specific to that machine.

If the NVRAM is dodgy it will be the built in battery has gone flat - uploading more data won't work. Just buy a new one.

The NVRam also has the serial number encoded in it - you can really hose up a color machine if you start swapping SN's around the wrong way.
