Have a problem with jamming from optional 2 draw paper bank (B384) on an MP1600, paper will feed out of these trays fine but slams into the registration rollers. Machine is fairly new with about 8k on it.
Paper prints/copies fine from the machines single tray so I cant see that it is a registration clutch/ sensor issue. The logging data shows mostly 12 jams '1 vertical transport sensor ON' I have added this page as an attachment (I had to reuse the paper so its a bit hard to read).
This sensor should only be activated by the 3rd tray not the 2nd and yet when using the second I get a ON jam for this sensor.
Things I have tried..
Input check on all sensors along paper path including the problem vertical transport sensor, all check out fine.
Firmware.
Reseating machine on paper bank and reseating connector.
Copying and printing from optional trays produces same results.
Paper size setting dials in correct positions, user tools paper tray sizes correct.
The only thing that has had any effect was reseating the copier on the bank, was good for 100's of pages then back to jamming at no more than 3 pages out at most. Going back on Tuesday with a vertical transport sensor but I have a feeling it won't fix it, job is way out of town too so that makes things worse. My only other theory is the right side door on the paper bank though i have pushed it in firm during copying with no effect.
Any suggestions appreciated.
