[Misc] Hard Drive Format Aficio 2035e

Prior to selling, we want to format the hard drives to ensure no residual images on hard drive. Our vendor hasn't been helpful in providing the commands/instructions to reformat. Can anyone please help with this?

    Thank you!

You can format them from SP mode, however, this may not actually wipe old data, it may just reallocate the space as available.
Don't take that toner with me!

HDD formatting needs to be done in SP-mode. If you're not a tech you could be messing up the machine if you don't know what you're doing.

Best bet - fit a new hard drive, include it in the cost of the sale, then hit the old one with a fucking big hammer a few times.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Take out HDD, manually reformat it with a USB adapter and a PC.

If memory serves me correctly don't you have to go into Special Service mode to be able to do a full HD format? (hold down the # key before pressing copy sp)

Formatting only wipes the entry out of the FAT, the image is still there. If you want to wipe it clean you should remove the drive put it into a computer and use either the manufactures zeroing tool or Deriks Boot and Nuke.
