    Erasing a Hard Drive

Say a copier is in a medical office and they have patient information on the hard drive, this information needs to be erased before it gets moved to another location, how would you erase the hard drive? Any help appreciated, thank you.

I would imagine that a format all would do it.

The onboard format function only erases the FAT (file allocation table) and not the actual data. If the data needs removed the drive will need removed and scrubbed. You can save yourself the pressure of being responsible for their data by replacing the drive and leaving it with them.
