MP171SPF network printing issue

Hi,



Then I have changed the control board with brand new one, and the address book issue been solved, and we can scan and logged as admin.
But network printing is not happening!!, USB printing is fine. We can scan as I said and we can access the WIM.

Can you advice please.

Try reloading the Firmware. You say you can USB Print, and I'm assuming you are Network Scanning?? Pretty sure this model doesn't scan via usb.

Can't see them needing to change an SP if they can access the Web Image Monitor.

I had this trouble.
I only restarted the NIC in the sp 5....

first put in 0
after turn off and on the machine
and change to 1.

Hi,
I have this problem every day.This machine have problem whit SD Card.Go to SP Mode
( 5846-50) and reset address book. If the problem remain you must change SD Card.
I don't know why only MP 171 spf have this problem with addrss book error. When I instal new machine , other day customer call me and say machine call address book error.Ricoh say format HDD or change Printer Controller.

The problem most of the times with this new model : ram memory module on controllerboard...... I had a few now with the same problem, and most were solved with new memory module.
In one case it was the controllerboard.
Please tell us all what your solution was , so we all learn !!

If you print out the Configuration page from the Printer Settings menu it shows the IP address that was entered. Also on some models MP171SPF there is no mention of IEEE802.1x on this page. However if you print out the configuration pages from System Setting - Interface Settings - Network it shows the IP address as 11.22.33.44 and 1/4 of the way down on page 1 you will see:
IEEE802.1x Settings
Ethernet:On
It should be:
IEEE802.1x Settings
Ethernet:Off
To change it go to Interface Settings – Network and look for IEEE802.1x or wireless settings and make sure they are off or inactive.

I am assuming that the different printer drivers and ports including lpr have been tried ?.
i would also try to print the config page 5990 007 and see whether any sort of access range has not been set up.

Dear All,
We have got 26 pieces of MP171SPF machines with address book error. The only way to resolve problem is repacing gw controller board.

I know that a lot of technicians in Europe met that issue. We need more reports from Europe regarding address book error in MP171SPF machines.

in this model the adress book data is in flash ROM,not the same of previous model MP161 was in SDcard.
you can check it in SP5-846-43
1-sd slot 1 (MP161)
2-sd slot 2
4-flash ROM (MP171)
20-HDD
in most of cases just turn off and on resolves,but if not you must change the controller

Hi,
The problem is that the address book error dissapears after rebooting .... at the beginning.
AT the end there is no solution. The machine is locked, there is no possibility to log in via web and the only one solution is to replace board.
We found addres book error depends on frequency of book usage. Every machine is working all the time - no power off.


Is it possible to move book from flash to sd card or hdd?. Shall we say we have additional card inserted or hdd.
