    Ricoh 1515F

A tech just called me on this one. When he presses the FAX button, it double beeps instead of going into fax mode. Recycling the power didn't help. I told him to access the battery board on the FCU and press that in good because I have seen that on new units.
I haven't heard back yet but has anyone else seen that?
    Copying works fine.

If your fix doesn't work, could be a bad FCU, or it needs initialized.

The quick fix didn't work and neither did initializing the RAM so I gave him a price on the FCU. He is pondering it. Thanks for the reply

Had this happen with Printer option before. It double beeped and never loaded. It was the FIRMWARE. Reloaded and all was well.

Before you too far, be sure that the fax didn't get set up to use IP or Internet fax; it needs to be a plain ol' analog phone line.

I had a tech accidentally set this a few months ago. The machine is looking for a connection that doesn't exist. (That was on an MP171, but it's basically the same machine.)

Wouldn't Fax Redlight and have an SC?

                  You'd think so, but no.

That's what threw me off for an hour or so before i found it.
