ScanRouter is officially no longer supported or receiving any further development. I don't believe it is compatible with Vista or Windows7. You may want to run an XP or Win2K VM for the purpose of running ScanRouter.

Zed is correct; SR won't work with Vista or Windows 7.

If adding another PC with XP or 2000 isn't feasible, you may be able to add a Virtual Machine session to a Windows 7 box.

Make sure that you open port 3670 (both TCP and UDP) on the server, even if the firewall is turned off.

                (Seems silly, I know...)

I've had to do this more often than not to get it working.

Scanrouter V2 lite works with windows 7 and/or Vista if you disable user account control, restart the PC, and then manually start the service in the V2 admin utility. i've set it up several times

Good to know, thanks for the info.

While it would allow Scan Router to work, though, it seems to me that most IT admins would really hesitate to lower security that much. I know that I wouldn't allow it if it was my network.

Of course, it depends on how your customer's IT person feels about it.

Again, keep in mind that the product hasn't been supported by Ricoh in 3 1/2 years, so if something bad happens they can't be held responsible.

Most of my customers that use Scanrouter which is VERY FEW nowadays know to stick with the XP Box it runs on. Those that didn't we converted to scan to email. Really shouldn't be too many people needing to run Scanrouter. I think almost every machine since 2003 has SMB or Email scanning.
