[Error Code] Failed to connect to server for Remote Diagnostics ... ?

This is an off-lease MP161 that got dumped in my lap. The LCD panel cycles this message across the screen, which is obviously going to make the customer question it. I've searched the SM and the web and can't seem to find what it might be. Perhaps it used to be plugged into some kind of @Remote appliance?

I've tried prohibiting Remote Diag. (fax) under Extended security, as well as the @remote service, but to no avail.

    Thoughts?

    TIA

Yes, it was set up for embedded @Remote. You can turn it off by changing sp5-816-003 to "0" (function flag- disables/enables the remote service function). You might also execute 5-816-209 (Install clear), which releases the device from the @Remote setup.
