Ricoh MP171SPF Shared printer and user code dont save

    Hello,

    I have a MP 171SPF.
Following is the description of the problem.
    Scenario:
Printer installed on a print server with user code.
After installing the driver shared (PCL6 Version), the user code is set up, tested and properly accounted for their user code.

The problem happens from this point, after the user logoff and login again, the user code is blank.

The same scenario works perfectly with the above model MP161SPF using the PCL6 driver.

    Thanks for your help!

Drivers tend to be a bit odd. PCL6 is rubbish however, I only use PCL5. RPCS driver will save user codes permanently.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

When using codes the driver should be installed on each workstation using the RPCS driver.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

the PCL5E driver will save the user code, and allow it to be changed if needed. once the rpcs driver has the user code input, it cannot be changed unless you delete the driver and re-install it.

This is a known issue with the PCL6 driver. Ricoh Tech No.:TS100850.
Best solution intil a new driver is released would be to use alternative driver (PCL5,RPCS,PS3)

            Thank you all,

I'll have to use the PCL5.
            PCL6 really has a problem.
