By default Ricoh MFDs/printers assume that the paper is defined as plain/recycled.

Paper source is used is dependant on three criteria.

Paper Size Paper size is determined by tray fence position/User tools or tray switch position depending upon model.

    Auto Paper Select (Off/On)

Paper Type Configurable in User Tools.

If a print job is submitted as (page size) auto paper select/plain recycled one the default tray depletes any alternative tray matching those parameters will be selected.

To prevent auto tray switching for a specific tray configure User Tools, System Settings, Tray Paper settings, Paper Tray (x) type and either disable Auto Paper Select or define the paper type differently (Coloured, Letterhead, Special, Bond .etc)

Also switch off Auto Continue in printer features.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

User Tools / System Settings / Paper Tray Settings / Auto Tray switch (Individual Trays)
