    Ricoh MP C3300 horizontal line

I have a Ricoh MP C3300 that has a horizontal line about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the page when making a copy on the C3300. But when they send a print job to that printer the line does not show up. They have installed a new toner cartridge and the line is still there on copies. I have attached a sample copy showing the line. Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Lift the document feeder. There is a small glass plate at the left. Clean it and the line should be gone. There is probably some ink or dirt on the glass plate.

Yeah 90% chance there is ink, or white out or something on that little slit of glass. You may have to use Alcohol or a fingernail to get it clean. 10% chance the mirrors are dirty underneath the glass.

X3 on the scanner glass. It doesn't take much on that glass to cause a problem like yours, and you may not be able to see it unless you look close.

The printer is located in another city than what I am in and I am looking for a service manual for this pritner. The people where the pritner is located are not printer literate and need a lot of direction. So if anyone knows where I can locate a service guide please let me know.

The fact that the line stops short of the lead and trail edges confirms that it is a dirty slit glass (edge erase is voiding those areas). The line looks pretty wide so I would think they should be able to see and clean it. I am attaching the page from the op manual that indicates what they need to clean (item #1, immediately to the left of the large platen glass). As the others have stated, 90% of the time it's whiteout or some residue from an original passing over it. If the line were to go completely from edge to edge then you can be pretty certain that you have a damaged/worn engine part (pcu, fuser, charge roller).

Thank you to everyone who responded. It is fixed. My user in Indiana responed as follows... I was pulling open the cover on the document feeder, they just meant lift the entire lid until you see the glass that you set the copy down on. Right before that is the strip of glass that needed to be cleaned with your fingernail because junk gets in there. It's fixed now

                Thanks again.
