Hello, I got this error today in the middle of a job,It says the cyan developer is not set,I have tried many times to install/reinstall but still get same error. the developer was just replaced yesterday along with all the others.We ran a pretty long run today before this happened,anyone have any ideas?

There was a mod on the dev unit drive gear (old unit?)
Check the front plate is locked correctly, isn't the unit set switch in the cover?? was this the one with the thread which pokes out of the unit as it runs for the 1st time? was the unit turned before installation and the machine didnt detect the switch going from off to on? or am I talking BS (very late) -
The printer version will have the the actuators poking out of the front of the units (since the op changes them and it will auto calibrate). I'm thinking you should place a foam shim between the cover bar and the dev unit to ensure you have a good seating. Otherwise I would try a new dev unit.Comment

hello, I have tried everything everyone has suggested, and still no luck, and now the magenta dev says it is also not set.I checked the sc history and there was another error last week that came up (sc-393). I checked the manual and it says something about td sensor.What exactly is the td sensor and where is it?Comment

TD=Toner Density Sensors and those are located in Developer Units. attached to them.Comment

What would cause the developer units to say their not set in the middle of a job?I have even tried another set of developers and got the same two errors on cyan and magenta.Comment

That is an odd one. I can only think if maybe the brown metal bar that holds all the DV/Drum units in was not secured properly OR if there is Toner/DV in that Phone Jack that DV units plug into on the rear of the machine. Or where they connect on the back side.Comment

The drum plate bends slightly and the development unit gear cannot mesh with the mainframe may cause DV unit seating errors. Turn off Machine open and lift drum plate till it clicks up and reseat. This taken from a bulletin for similar but not same SC.Comment

I needed to bend this brown locking bar a bit towards "banana shaped" a few times cause of these kinds of errors. Sometimes the dev units have enough play to disconnect from the drive even if that bar thingy seems so set up correctly. If that won't help I'd go for the DV clutch - especially if you can see CMY Color drop outs.Comment
