The machine is Ricoh Aficio 2022. The client uses windows XP with SP3 installed. The driver is LAN Fax for Ricoh Aficio 2022 from ricoh's site (Aficio 2022/2027/2032 download page). For some reason it is not working.
The copier, printer (using PCL6 driver) and scanner work fine. The fax module also works fine when sending faxes from the machine itself.
When a fax is sent through lan-fax, the user receives no error message, and might think the fax was sent. On the Web Image Monitor -> Job -> Fax History -> LAN-Fax, a new row shows up, with status "Interrupted". When using the switch SW20-0 on the machine ("LAN-Fax error report printing"), a page is printed with the message "Error during communication with PC".
The same results show if you just try to print (instead of send) using the lan-fax driver.
Several earlier posts refer to issues with windows update KB925902. This update is missing from the client's computer (perhaps because it already contains SP3).
