Scan to FTP - Aficio 2027

    Hi,
I need some help or advice on step by step prcedure regarding scan to FTP on a aficio 2027 copier at my customer's office. The problem arise is because they do not want to use a static IP on their computers as the IP's tend to change whenever they restart or reset their servers.
Also, on some PC's, when scan to SMB is done, they need to log in as administrator which they reckon is not suitable too because of security issues.
Hope to hear some of your replies & your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance...

I'd say use scan to email instead. They've got too much stuff going on that will just stop scan to folder working.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Scan to email is a solution. Here is another.
You stated that they would have to log in as administrator to use scanning via smb.

What I usually do is this (based on windows server)
      1. Create new user in the active directory for example 'Ricoh' and 'Password'
      2. On the server create a folder called 'Scans'
      3. Share the folder 'Scans'
      4. Give full read and write permissions for user 'Ricoh' on the scan folder.
      5. Inside the 'Scans' folder I place the name of the individual users, for example, Bill, Bob, John, etc..
      6. On the 2027, in the address book, I put in the name of the user, path for the scans. The use the 'Ricoh' and 'Password' username and password to send the scans to the folder.
      7. Place a shortcut to the users folder on the server \\server\Scans\username

This is my preference for scanning via smb. It eliminates the user having to log on as an Admin.
It also maintains security as well.

I forgot to mention, if your customer is worried about security, using ftp is NOT secure.
You would want to use sftp.
