Getting files off of a 1027 HD

The customer has been using this as it should be used (Document Scanner) and now wants to move the files to a computer.

I have yanked a HD out of one of these yet, but I'm sure there should be a way to pull the docs off by sticking the thing in a USB reader...

    TIA

If my memory serves me, files stored on the Af1027 in the Docserver are stored in a proprietory format.
You may be able to plug the drive into an adaptor but you'll only get 1's and 0's.
If the host machine had a file format convertor you could use that to export the files to a PCinto a more usable format (TIFF/PDF).

Print them out and scan them into computer, only way I have seen.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

With all the recent commotion about hard drive security, this is actually a really good thing.

In order to to this you need the "file format converter" option installed in the machine. The documents can then be accessed through WIM and saved to the PC's HD.
