    Fax problem, Lanier 2005 / Ricoh 5000

When I manually dial out, fax works. When I use the user presets, it says dialing and doesn't go through. Is there a memory reset on this model? Was working fine until last week.

try fax sp modes there should be a fax memory clear there. I'm pretty sure this will blow away your presets and initial fax settings though so print them out first. Turning off ECM solves lots of problems too if you haven't already done so.

This might sound stupid, but did they change phone systems. I had a company do that to me and the new phone system, they had to dial a 9 first where they didn't have to before they changed, so had to edit all there presets to dial 9 first.

I was hoped the problem was just a missing (9) or something to dial out. It's real weird, with the speed dial, it just says "dialing" and never goes away. Ended up swapping fax out with one that had a bad control panel. Moved panels and added speed dials.

if you do need to dial 9 first. sometimes it helps to put a pause or two after the 9 and before the number.

Is the phone line plugged into the LINE port?

Did they change DIGITAL phone companies, or is it still analog?

            Stick to the fax basics.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
