    replacing mpc460/aficio3260 HDDs

    Hi Guys

Whats the score with fitting non ricoh HDDs ( they are 3X the price)

I know they have to be the same manufacturer ,model and size.

I have replaced all 4 with new HDDs but still doesn't work , do the drives need to be formatted first ?

    Cheers for any input

Can't remember of they are IDE or SATA, If IDE are the jumpers set to the same as the originals? On machines with single drives they must be set to "Master", Not sure for this machine. They would normally set themselves and you just download the stamp data via SP. You will also lose Doc Server address book data and stored docs. Try SP5832.001 to format, the manual is quite specific re the plug connections so you may have a problem.

The drives on the 3260 are all IDE.
