I would try reloading the latest firmware first. You can also try disconnecting the HDD first and see if it comes up then.

SC 991/992 are firmware related but can be caused by bords/trap wires. as Ucinn said do firware first.

I've worked on a lot of Ricohs, but never had to update firmware. I have manuals, but no factory support and many ?? about the procedure and what is the latest version,can it be downloaded from a copier or does it have to come from the site.

If you have the manuals, the procedure for updating/reloading firmware is found in the Service Tables section. The firmware is on the ricoh TSRC website.

Other than Ricoh, where can I get firmware. Also, what size SD card is needed and can more than 1 firmware be put on it(eng, system,lcdc)
