Gestetner DSM618 Scanner setup help for Server 2008 64bit

We're in the process of upgrading servers at work. We're going from an old Windows 2000 machine as the domain controller, to a Windows 2008 64bit machine as the controller. We plan on still using this Gestetner machine for a while, and need to get the scans working. We used to have the scan router software just dump the scan as a PDF into a shared folder on the server. We would like to do the same thing, but our software guy says the scan router software won't load on a 64 bit system.... So what are our options? Do we need to set it up to email the documents rather than just delivering them to a shared folder? Is there newer software available that we coudl use for this?

Scanrouter is no longer supported and won't work on anything above XP and Server 2003. Is there anyway to hang on to the old server and just utilize it for scanrouter? Maybe just load XP on it and use it as a dedicated scanrouter server and shortcut the scan folders.

Just had the same scenario last week. The customer had a ricoh 1075 and a newer MPC3350, which has SMB scanning already built in. The company kept a PC with XP on it just to use scanrouter. I installed the software on that machine, configured it, and they were up and running.

The other option is to use scan to email.

        As Jonhiker said.
Scan to Email or Scan to your old server or a Windows XP Machine.
