    have a lanier ld 160 copier does any one know this error code sc 555 mechanical .

    SC555 is either a broken thermistor or thermostat. It'll probably need them replacing, possibly a hot roller too.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Could also be just toner buildup on the thermistors. Check if they are both functioning by using SP 1106-001 and 002. A reading of "0" indicates a bad thermistor and must be replaced. If neither are "0" clean them both and and perform a level A reset. If the code returns you probably have a blown thermostat. Continuity check all 3 and replace the faulty one. Redo level A reset and you should be good to go.

        Also shim the connector in the rear so it makes better contact.
