I've installed XP via Parallels on my iMac and have resorted to printing things that way. We have a Ricoh Aficio MP C2500 WITHOUT the postscript option. I've installed Linux drivers to allow my Mac to print to this printer. However, it is WOEFULLY slow. The PC side is MUCH faster.
At any rate, the boss is open to the idea of purchasing the postscript option. What I am wondering is if its worth it. For example. I printed a PDF from XP and it looked just OK. The lines and text were not what I'd call razor sharp. They looked kind of pixelated. As if the file was converted to a graphic then printed. So I'd be curious if this postscript option would improve the print quality. Also if it would improve the speed printing from the Mac. I'd hate to buy it only to find out it makes a marginal difference. I'm the designer here and I'd like the best quality possible.
Edit: Oh yeah. Where in the world do you actually buy the postscript option. I cannot find anything.
