[Electrical] MPC2050 Touchscreen only works when screen magnification is on?

Anyone ever got a machine (in my case an MPC2050) that only accepted input through the touchscreen when the screen magnification was on?

A customer of ours called in friday to ask for help on that. I just talked to her today over the phone and, as she was explaining, she tried it with the magnification off and it worked this time.

Since this isn't your typical problem customer, I doubt they're making it up. But I can't find anything on this, so I'm asking here.

    Thanks.

I had one last week where the touchscreen only worked in the the functions besides copy (Printer, Doc Server, Fax - didn't try Simple Mode). I rebooted and that corrected it.

The touch screen needs to be replaced, they go out all the time. They usually start with only a few functions not working then it wont work at all...

When I talked to Ricoh tech support, they said it was a software glitch and let them know of any future reassurances. Normally I would say it was a bad touchscreen, but the fact was that I could do a calibration successfully-touch all over the screen and get feedback, go into the other functions (toggle back and forth) and operate all of the features ok but in the copy function it was totally unresponsive. If the touchscreen was bad (ie electrical harness) then none of the features would work in any of the functions. Rebooting corrected it, now I'm waiting to see if it comes back down the road.

It is not a magnification mode - it is a simplified mode for the hard of thinking
