Ricoh aficio 9000 coin op settings

We have been trying to get the Ricoh 9000 to accept a keypad through the coin-op connector. We did get settings from the third party manufacturer but belive they are wrong. The machine will not recognize the key pad device. We have had the 9000 recognize this device before but a power outage has taken it back to factory default. Please help.

Did you enable it in User Tools? I believe it's in System Settings>Administrator Tools>Key Counter Management.

      Are you using equitrac?

Try user tools-> system settings->admin settings-> page down and look for external key counter. Turn it on for copying.
There is also a SP mode 5113-001. I've been using 12 for the equitrac's.

Something similar to equitrac. It is an external device using a external keypad that authenticates at a server.

just found out today that the external device was unplugged from the coinop connector at the back of the 9000. When the connection was broken while the 9000 was on we think this caused a internal error. We disconnected the external device from the machine and now the 9000 will make one copy and then show a sc901 error which translate to a mechanical counter error. now we are completely baffled.

You can disable mechanical counter detection by changing SP5-915 to 0. Did you change everything back to default settings in User Tools (turn off external device) and SP5-113 back to "0"??

I will check as soon as I get there. I have my techs there now. Do you think if I turn it off and set system tools bak to default then install again it might recognize the external device?
