Discussion for scan to folder setup in windows 7

Hi

I am facing lots of diff. problems while configuring scan to folder under windows 7.
So i raise this thread to know from basics to setup scan to folder in windows 7.
COndition
1. If DHCP enable then how to setup scan folder
2. If wireless lan active than what are problems will come.
3. If more than one network operational then what are the problems come.

Scan to folder in Windows 7. You have to set the right submissions to your folder and share it. Now you can setup scan to folder in the machine. With some copiers you can browse through the network to find the right folder on the right machine. When dhcp is enabled there is no specific problem. You should see the computers host name.

As there were important changes to networking in W7, it is important to update the firmware to the latest version. Usually dated September 2010 or later.

That's right - seems win7 / server 2008 is using an updated SMB protocol wich needs an upgrade on many ricoh machines.

DHCP has nothing to do with scanning:

\\PCname\scanfolder. User authetication and password on the machine or WIM.

Wireless network: just open an execption in the wirewall.

More than one network will not scan in SMB:

Ex: IP address: 192.1.1.100 subnet: 255.255.255.0 with a working setup scan folder will not work on a another network at the same time: EX: 192.1.2.100 subnet: 255.255.255.0 even if the gateway is set.
