Does the PC detect the copier when you plug the cable in? If so, try installing the driver on the detect window instead. I've found Vista can be an absolute bastard when it comes to detecting devices.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Make sure the USB is enabled, by default it is not.

First may we know what controller board your client using? Is it DDST type A, DDST type B or FEB/GW board? If this machine use only DDST controller board, kindly make sure to download the right driver(DDST Printer driver for Vista). Then install it on the PC and check if the PC detect the copier once you plug in the USB cable.
