Aficio 2032 firmware to correct some glitches

Hi, this is my first post, please be kind

I work as IT manager in a small accounting society. Lots of time I have to fix what other people refuse or in unable to get working.

We bough a Ricoh Aficio 2032 with Fax module from a really stupid man, with no technical knowledge but the elementary features of the machine. You know, as always was the CEO decision that marked the contract, not my advices.

I have some glitches with this machine and the answer from the "tech vendor" was there is no possibility to fix them. Obviously it is translated as "I do not have any idea on how to upgrade firmware".

Now, I need your help. My computing and office machines is medium/high skill, I'll not make you lose your time. Please suggest me the procedure to upgrade whatever is available for this machine, how and where to find the needed files.

    Where are the system specs:

    Code:
    Model Name: Aficio 2032
    System: 1.04
    NIB: 4.12
    Web Image Monitor: 1.03
    Total Memory: 192MB
    Would you help me?

Got some delays when sending commands or processing documents. Hope for some improvements.

Moreover the network capabilities are, well, slow..

P.S: The "tecnician" "forgot" to give me CD (if some) and above all manuals... ISO images and PDF are welcome...

Operations manuals and drivers are available from Ricoh's website. With regard to service and parts manuals, someone on here will probably send you them if you ask nicely. I won't however, as untrained people messing around with tech mode can severely screw a machine up.

With regard to your fault, try setting the network speed on the machine to Auto, if it isn't already. If it is, try setting it to 10mbps full duplex, try again, then 100mbps full duplex. The speed selector is in User Tools, System Settings, Interface Settings. Look for Ethernet Speed, it's on the first or second page.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Drivers have been found. It's a pity there is no LanFax driver for Windows Seven_x64.

Manuals... where? I can't find anyone, probably I'm having a bad day or not enough caffeine in my blood. Whoa, I think I should search better. EN-US, EU sites?

Ok, I'm kneeling on dry peas. Hitting my head with a rotten fish and smiling like a pina colada.

          Anyone?

The only firmware I haven't changed in my house/office is my wife's one. Can't find a FTP where download and, above all, which is the correct port to be uploaded?

If you're talking about firmware, you must first know which firmware you want to upgrade (engine, controller etc). To get firmware you have to be trained and have access to Tessa (technical ricoh website). You also need a 4MB Flash Memory Card and the Ricoh Memory Card Explorer software. And you must know your way around in the service mode.

Well, I looked at the Ricoh-USA site and could not find that op manual. When I checked the Katun cross reference it shows it was only sold in Europe (though may be similaler to a 2027 or 2035 I'm guessing). It was sold under the following brand names, you might find the manuals on one of their sites.....

              AFICIO 2032 (EU)
              Rex Rotary
              DSM 632 EU .
              Gestetner
              DSM 632 EU FE .
              Danka Infotec
              IS 2132 EU RF .
              Nashuatec
              DSM 632 EU RF SA

FYI, don't bother with the firmware. It won't help your speed issue and the process is challenging with the method and hardware required. You would need to be trained to avoid hosing everything as Eric1968 points out.

Addendum, found a brochure online. It is the same as the Aficio 2022/2027
