    MPC 2500 finisher jam

I have an MPC 2500 with a SR790 attached. It keeps jamming in the finisher proof tray only on LT LEF. LT-R, LG, & LD all feed fine. SMC shows jam code 100. When jam occurs the finisher motors seem to speed up. Finisher logic board, motor harness, and NVRAM have been replaced. Firmware is up to date.

    Anyone have this problem?

100 is finisher entrance. Look at the black guide at the entrance of the finsiher, it may be worn or broken or the spring is missing.

x2. Also take the back cover off, there's a spring on the solenoid actuator for the gate that pops off.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Check this out. Open up the top cover of the finisher, and pop out the white driven rollers. Bend the metal roller holders (the flat springs) to increase the tension to the proof tray exit rollers. I struggled with this same intermittent problem for a couple of hours and this simple adjustment fixed it. Don't ask me why it only does it on 11x81/2.
