3245C PCU

I have some new PCU units for a 2238C . Can these also be used in the 3245C > If I remove the plug on the end the 2238 unit fits .Can I do this without any consequenses?

thank you I just had several new units and no 2238 left in the field so its good to know that I can use these on the newer machine.
