    Ricoh aficio 3260c login

The login was accidentally turned on, i don,t want to say how because i am so ashamed of myself for doing it. Default password (admin) does not work and when logged in as supervisor i am still unable to edit administrator password. i have read other replies to this problem on other models but is there no other way to solve this without changing the nvram. i am also wondering why i am not able to edit the administrator password, i have done this many other times on b&w machines.

There is not a password, only user name and leave password blank. username is admin or Admin (machine runs net bsd so its case sensetive)

If you can log in with 'supervisor' then there should be no reason that you can't change the administrator settings. What happens when your attempt to edit the administrator credentials?

that's what i find strange. First off the program/change administrator key/button is not accessible, it's there but not lit fully. Also not a single setting in user tools can be edited, the machine says "you do not have the priveleges...." on a further note it was accidentally turned because i was helping a fellow tech on field and just went on this mach for reference and when i exited by just pressing the user tools button the login screen came up. so i guess i accidentally pressed something on the touchscreen before, and i don't know what. 12 years in this field, i am so ashamed....

If the mfp is online I would try logging in supervisor in WIM and then try resetting the password.
Ricoh & Microsoft may pay the bills but Un*x saves my ass every day.
            MCSE/CCNE/ENS and other crap...
