I bought this MP171SPF about six months ago and I can not figure out how to set up scan to email. I have all of the settings that I can think of configured, yet I still get 15-11 check network connection. I originally tried setting it up to use gmail but that did not work and I had heard that it may never work. I recently set up a mail relay server on my private network and set the MP171SPF to forward mail through the relay server and I still get the same error. I am able to access the configuration page through the internal ip of the nic so I know that the ip is configured correctly. Any ideas?

Things to enter in the machine :
- IP-adres
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway
- DNS-server
- SMTP-server
- Authentication (if needed)
- Sender's email adress
- Set Auto Specify Sender's Name to ON (System Settings - File Transfer)
- Set Maximum Email Size to OFF (Scanner Settings - Send Settings)
When you fill in the SMTP-server and the DNS-server you can test the connection to see if it's OK.
Make sure that no firewall or security software is blocking your connection and see if you need to authenticate when you want to use the SMTP-server.
