have you been trying to convert black pcu's to fit into the colour. thats the only way i have heard of this connector getting damagged. sorry to bring bad news but you can't get the female connector as it is part and parcel of the main gearbox. you need a new connector, then you have to buy the whole gearbox and spend half a day fitting it as it is not an easy job. so any saving you tried to make on fitting black converted units has been well and truely lost now. -

Nah, 1 modded color drum set (3x) is saving you ~1000$ - this accident sucks but you don't have to mod a lot of units to compensate this. Just take more care in the future - do the mod properly and don't force the PCU into the machine.
Depending on how the connector dows now looks like you may fix it with two component adhesive.Comment

I broke the plug where the PCU connector slides into and there was no PN for the connector (MPC4000). I had to replace the entire drive assy.Comment

I read on another thread that someone who had to change the whole drive assy kept the undamaged connectors to test his modified drums on before putting them into the machine. sounds a good idea to me, if spare socket won't fit on the drum when sat on the bench, it will not fit in when slotted into the machine.Comment

that's exactly what I did. I also got a really good file now too so I never have to spend $1,200 on an entire assy again.Comment

I fortunatly don't have this problem as i work for ricoh uk and we have to fit the correct units. use to do it at previous employer with it being a dealer so know the pro's and cons of the mods. not a nice job to do though if you do have to replace the whole box in the back of the machine.Comment

IKON and Ricoh are supposedly "1" now-so much that we are all getting RICOH shirts in a month, yet my manager is still telling me to mod the drums -Comment
-
i was IKON before the merge and mods were to be done, but i am now told that as we are ricoh we have to fit the correct drums, same as mp2550 russian c5, we have the strip down drums as they don't reset count when fitting the older russian pcu units even though they fit ok.Comment

Who knows the ricoh-internal price politics..
AFAIK Ricoh Japan sells the stuff to Ricoh Europe/USA.... I don't think that Ricoh Europe/USA are executing the same price politics for their own direct-tech sales/support divisions and the external/independent shops out there.Comment

I wouldn't know and it is not my job to know, all i am expected to do is repair and service machines to a set manner whilst keeping cost at a moderate amount and giving a professional service to our customers keeping them running with as little down time as possible.Comment
