    Learn something new everyday

I installed a C2050 the other day and the customer decided he wanted a finisher. So I set up the printing, user codes, etc but he wasn't sure how he wanted to handle the scanning. Today I went back and poped in the finisher and when I asked him about the scanning he said he already did it and its working fine.
He set up the folders in his NAS and didn't have to put in a username and password in the "File tranfer" box. There is no way to put a un and pw in a NAS so he figured it wasn't needed and darned if he wasn't right. Surprise to me. I thought they were always necessary for SMB.

I've got 2 NAS boxes at home, neither of which use password protected sharing. That said, I think that I've only done this once or twice at a customer's office, most of the time they are to shared folders on the server or to a SAN.
