    SC672 - MP2550B

    FYI

Brand new machine, preflighted and delivered with 28 copies.

Op panel locks up after about 1 minute.
Reboot and the same thing happens.
Wait and after about 5 minutes SC672 is displayed.

Solution: Reseat memory card on FCU.

This was a problem with the 2015's as well if my recollection is correct but the code was different.

The 2550 has a problem with blowing controller boards. Has it also had any 819's?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Not yet, but if I keep hitting the BigRedPowerButton every time I have a problem, it might.

I don't know what manual you're using but the error code in my copy of the manual is on page 3-23

            817 C Boot loader error
The boot loader cannot read one of the following:
            Self-diagnostic module, kernel, or one
of the files of the root file system, or the
check of one of these items on the
            controller board failed.
            • File or module on the controller board is corrupted.

            • File or module on the controller board is illegal.

            • Replace the controller board.

These models are very susceptible to controller failure if not turned off properly.
            • ADF lid closed, no paper in original tray, press the on/off button on the control panel , wait until the green lit stops blinking, turn off the main power switch.

Unfortunately most people just shut off the main power, which can corrupt the HDD and/or the flash ram on the controller (I've done it myself, being in a hurry).

Use the D017 firmware. From the TSRC site.....

                Important note:
Certain firmware is different between the Black and White Scanner Models and the Color Scanner Models. If the Firmware is different, two versions are posted. For the Black and White Scanner Models, use the D017 Files. For the Color Scanner Models use the D018 Files.

Thanks a lot for your quick response!! I have this firmware:
                  • D0185333B (
                  • D0185337D
                  • D0185347B
                  • D0185336B
                  • D0205331G
                  • D0205343C

And all of the firmware for the D017 series.

Now, my question is.......i inserted de SD card with all of the firmware inside a folder named D018 and that folder inside another named Romdata in slor C2 and as soon i tunr the machine ON the code SC817 pops up.

                  What am i doing wrong??????

                  Thanks again!!!!!
