    RPCS

Can we use RPCS printer unit type 3350(intended for MP 3350) to MP 5000 machines?
    Thank you for your support.

I would say no as they have different EDP codes and names. You can try it though and let us know the results. Most likely won't work, either get an error code or something just shy of Armageddon.

Not to be nosey, but why can't you install the correct driver, and thereby avoid any issues?

The issue is hardware, not software.

            That's exactly my point.

If the hardware is different, which it is, just use the driver that it wants, instead of something different.

Should be easy, unless there are some circumstances which are as of yet unknown.

I got your point KENB. Since our customer just want to buy only the MP 3350 BADR without the rpcs option(basic machine and with lesser price). If possible to use the Type 3550 RPCS to MP 4000B-5000 then we can still sell the RPCS Option.

Sorry, my bad - I misunderstood the original question. We do get a lot of people asking if they can use the driver for one model machine on another, because it is difficult or impractical for them to change drivers on the server or workstations. That's what I thought you were asking.

Like TeeBee stated, it's highly doubtful that you can put a printer kit made for one model into another without causing major issues.
