I only have the description, not seen this before on that model, good luck!

Laser synchronizing detection error: start position LD1
The laser synchronizing detection signal for the start position of the LDB is
not output for two seconds after LDB unit turns on while the polygon motor is
    rotating normally.
     Worn out LD

    Damaged LD harness

    IPU defective

I would think it's your sync detector board. On previous generations they would commonly go out...
Ricoh & Microsoft may pay the bills but Un*x saves my ass every day.
        MCSE/CCNE/ENS and other crap...

          thanks everyone
I've read through the instructions, but still not fix it.
I phoned the supplier, they said, is because polygon motor, but in the encoding erros are reported as "SC221: Scan Length Error Detection".
          What's Scan length?
          Thank you verry much!
          (Sorry about my English)

The scan length is the sweep across the drum of the laser beam (enabled by the rotating mirror). When the beam hits the sync detector, that lets the machine calculate the start timing of the laser. So an sc221 would indicate that the detector did not see the beam even though the mirror is rotating.
            FYI, your english is fine...

                hi.what the manual says:
The laser synchronizing detection signal for the start position of the LDB [K] is not output for two seconds after LDB unit turns on while the polygon motor is
rotating normally.Have u tried replacing the ldb?
                1. Check the connectors.
                2. Replace the laser-synchronizing detector.
                3. Replace the LDB.
                4. Replace the BICU.

                  Thanks everyone for the help!
After cleaning up the Optical box and replace the polygon motor, it was normal!
Expected to be used for a long time!

HI you may only have a toner spill as the ld unit sits below the toner hopper I have had this problem before and I vacuumed out the laser section and it's bee ok since.

                    Regards
                    phil

Your first post and you had to go grave robbing. THIS THREAD HAD BEEN DEAD AND BURIED FOR OVER FOUR YEARS. If you had read the entire thread you would have seen that it had already been resolved.

Firstly I haven't gone grave robbing. Secondly like myself other people have problems and look on here for advice no matter how old the thread is and I resolved the issue... so if I can help anyone else with the same issue that's got to be a good thing.

If the post is over one year old, it is in the grave. To bring it back out is grave robbing. You obviously did not read the post just before yours. The problem had been resolved. He included an explanation of what resolved it.
