'Add toner' bk cartridge Ricoh 3245c

No matter what I do I get message about add toner bk cartridge.
I change toner delivery system, vacuumed, etc... - no go.
Last resort I did memory clear; it started working, but solids are not as good.
Eventually the same message about bk toner comes up.
AND: color registration is off and can't be adjusted via panel or SP mode.
I heard that solids have to be really good for registration to find its place.

Did you replace the black dv-unit? BTW, doing a memory clear isn't a good idea on these machines. Put in all the values on the birth certificate and try line positioning adjustment again.

Where would be the usual spot for 'birth certificate' on those machines?
The machine had same problem before memory clear, and performing it was the only thing that revived it. The solids, and mis-reg colors were just as bad before memory clear, as I found out.

It should be located in the front cover, behind the instructions to remove jams. To adjust line positioning, see attached file.

Black Toner pump could be your issue, A real pain to replace. I've had plenty of them pumps fail on me.

you guys mean toner attraction pump. Looks like a royal pain, as whole top + access from rear where the boards are...
