    Gestetner DSM 645

The above device is printing blank pages. If you turn the printer off and reseat the drum it starts to print again, but will eventually start to come back. Was wondering if anyone on here has ran into this before.

      Drum ground.
Try applying light pressure to the front of the drum as you make copies.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

there is a tendency of the pcu to move out while the machine is running so you have to properly hook/fixed it. clean the contacts.

Thanks for all the info. The last time this came up I did notice a lot of toner was in the device, cleaned it all out and it started working again. Guess it lasted about 2 weeks or so. I replaced the Toner Supply Unit Cover Seal the last time. When I looked at the device there seemed to be alot of excess toner in the device again. I am going back tomorrow to clean it out and if it has stopped printing again I will check the drum with a slight pressure to see if it is a grounding issue when it is not printing. Any other seals should I look at replacing so it does not dump alot of toner into the device.

If it is the drum not grounding correctly due to it working loose, do I need to purchase a new drum unit or is there another more common part to replace to resolve? So that attaches better and does not come loose every couple weeks. Also when I replaced the toner seal I replaced the drum and blade but not the whole unit.

There is a drum beariing and strap on the rear of the drum drive unit that grounds the drum.

you can change all the seals on the drum unit : drum seal, side seals, toner entrance seal and while your at it you clean the recycle system. there is also a seal on dv, the dv top cover and filter can be changed also. you can change the whole pcu but that is just a matter of choice or cost
