The door switches can also cause this code. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

I have had this error many times on the 1035 1045 range. On one occassion it was the front cover interlock switches but the rest were only solved by replacing the laser unit. One thing to note when ordering the laser unit is they are different between the 1035/1045.
Have you tried to re-initialise the laser? From memory I think it was in 2 - Drum - LD power adjustment. There is one for 400dpi and one for 600dpi, I think it states "400dpi initial setting". (Obviously make sure the laser unit is clean first). You then have to re-boot the MFP. Not sure if its in standard service mode or sp service mode but it's quite obvious when you look at it.
Hope this helps, but on most occassions I have had to replace the laser unit.Comment

If you decide to do the pitch adjustment, the first thing to do is to remove the LD from the housing and release it back to its home position. You'll probably find that it's overdriven above the position sensor and locked high.Comment

I have had this error many times, frontsafetyswitches yes, maybe but you should check the bandcable from the laserunit.
Pull it out and reseat it on the laserunit and do the same on the board and 9 out of 10 you will be allright !
Good luck and happy holidays....hoho hotechnicians are the only ones that don't trust technical stuff !Comment

Apart from replacing the BICU board, that is the only solution I know of for 322 and 326. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone? It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

While I'm not a big fan of tweeking pots, I have had some success in doing so to the pots on the LD units of these machines. We've made jokes about it causing a hotter laser & waiting for smoke to pour out of the transfer door when we opened it, but it hasn't had any negative effects. I figure a wasted drum is maybe 20% of the cost of a drum (but I've got machines out there running that way for 200k & the drums last fine. If you try it, just make sure you mark your starting point & increase the pot a little at a time.
Unconventional, I know, but better than paying big bucks for LD units.Comment

I agree with Tonermunkeh. But I didn't changed the door switches, I cleaned the switches because the machine was full of toner and the sc322 was fixed.Comment
