Weird problem. Customer says names are picked at random to scan to. For example a scan to "Peter" might also go to "Paul" They say they are hitting the clear modes between scans when they scan one after another. Anyone hear of this before?

Set the scanner reset time to 30 sec.
Print out the scan log that shows Peter +1.
The guilty party will show on the printout.
And I always put the toilet seat down.
Yeah right. Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

Sounds like an operation problem. You will probably never be able to duplicate it because I would bet the operator is fat fingering it or something. Some questions/suggestions are..
- Are they using the quick dial list or the search function?
- Have them check the current destination on the screen before they send, if there are up and down arrows next to the name, that means they have an additional destination programmed.
- Is the 'clear modes' button flaky (you will need to test it yourself and see if it requires any extra pressure, sometimes the contact on the board goes south).
- If you can determine/prove that it is going to an extra destination and only one name was selected then either try upgrading firmware (I've never heard of this problem being machine related though) or something weird is going on with their email server.

Scan reset time set to 15 seconds. Customer says they hit the clear modes(yellow) after finishing one scan before going to next. I've never heard of this. Did a broad search on Ricoh site, Came back to check SP1012 in scan mode set to zero. I couldn't find this in Lanier manual, but will check anyway. I agree, I think it is customer, but they say "ITS NOT US". Any more thoughts?I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........
