    Gestetner DSM618 Service Mode Question(s)

I am desperate for any information on the Gestetner dsm618. I have a functional copier that is just sitting in my office. The unit has a network connection and is connected to my network, but I am unable to locate on the panel the settings for the network.

I just wish to change the network address. I have even located (in this forum) how to go into the service mode by entering the key combination "clear>1,0,7>red clear/stop button." After five seconds I am in the mode.

Once in the SM mode I get a slew of options and when I get to the network address section it displays "invalid function." I am at a loss.

Can anyone give suggestions on how to access this thing? Anything is appreciated.

You change the settings through User Tools, not service mode. Select User Tools/Counter>System Settings>Interface Settings.

FYI, try and avoid going into the service mode. If you're not trained on it, you can really mess things up by changing a setting.

The "interface settings" is not present. I select the user mode>system settings and there is not interface settings. Is there a protected mode such as an administrative node? Did this model machine require an upgrade pack to activate the network feature? It would seem that if there is a network connection there is a network capability.

      Thanks for your assistance.

Yes, it does require the printer/scanner and controller box options. The RJ45 connector is already on the device as default, the printer and controller options will include everything to make it functional (not cost effective to buy after initial purchase) -

        Controller Box
        1 Installation procedure 1
        2 Controller box 1
        3 Operation panel 1
        4 Key top – copier 2
        5 Expansion decal 1
        6 Screw M3 x 8 1
        7 Tapping screw M3 x 6 6

        Printer Scanner
        1 Installation procedure 1
        2 Dummy cover-fax 1
        3 Key top-printer 2
        4 Key top-scanner 2
        5 Cover-printer 1
        6 USB board 1
        7 SD card 1

Take a picture of the entire operations panel and post it on here, that'll tell us if it's got the right bits in.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

Thanks for the information you provided. It appears the system doesn't offer the networking capability. Again thanks. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years. This is a great site.
