Does it happen when scanning to every compter - even your own?

If you're scanning to a 64bit windows system, then you've got yourself a problem.

Updating the firmware could solve your issue.

If it's xp then its 32 bit. Scan to folder you need, the correct ip client or server name, password and user name, shared folder with all permissions and finally check the computer firewall isn't blocking the scan, McAfee and norton are famous for this.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Make sure under the folder properties that the "read only" box is unchecked, too. Disable DHCP and set a static IP address.

make sure that the registered destination is "\\ip_adress\share_name".

If the windows firewall is on, you would need to make port exceptions for TCP/IP ports 137 and 138. User account credentials for folder authentication need to be for an Administrator. Does the user have a password on their account? In some cases, the MFP won't send scans to such an account. You could either create a "Scan" account with admin rights and a password, or put a password on their admin account.

There is such a thing as Windows XP 64 bit.

Kinda rare, but it's out there.
