    Ricoh Aficio 3228C with SC 991

    Working on a Ricoh Aficio 3228C when the message "Please Wait" is displayed when user is making copies. Ran the SMC report, the SC history show SC 991 on 1/5/2011 and 11/8/2010. So far the copier is working fine, except when the "Please Wait" message is displayed. According to the service manual, it refers to Ricoh Technical Publication (RTB) 10d and 10c. which I don't have access to. Plus, from what I have read on the forum, I have to clear the memory and/or reload the system software. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.

    991 is a software error of some kind. It relates to software program error, not enough working memory or some internal parameters that is not correct. I would start with upgrading all the firmware for the machine.
    But I think I have replaced a controller on a machine with this message too.
