    Mpc 2000 toner end

I got a call from a customer today saying that black toner would not load on their MPC 2000.
On arrival I found that they were using non genuine toner. I explained that this wasn't recommended and could void thier warranty and they agreed I could replace the toner with genuine toner which I had in my van stock, at a cost.
I replaced the dodgey toner with genuine Ricoh toner, however I could not clear the toner end condition. After opening and closing the door a number of times the machine would try and tone up but the toner end condition would appear again.
I also tried a forced toner supply, but machine did not change state.
I had a good look around the toner supply area and their was a hell of a lot of stray toner which had also got into the back of the machine. This was all cleaned and vacumed up. Still no change.
I spoke to the user and he said he tried lots of times to load the toner but to no avail.
    Anybody have similar problems.
Im thinking going down the road of new developer, or have I a faulty toner attraction pump or TD sensor. Im also thinking could the user have done damage by trying slam the toner bottle into the machine.

    Any thoughts?????

      Hopper Unit?

Do you mean the unit at the rear of the machine with the bank of clutches, or the toner attraction pump. The machine im talking about is the MPC 2000 MFP.

I'd be more willing to bet the non-OEM toner has knacked the toner pump or blocked up the supply pipe. You'll be able to see if there is any damage to the hopper mechanism by taking off the left cover and the blue output tray, you can then see the entire toner supply assembly and check it for busted bits.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Vacum out the supply pipe and nozzle and REPLACE the affected toner pump. Fire it up and give it a few minutes to reload toner into dev - then bingo back to Ready condition - I work on these daily and see this problem a lot.
