the only physical difference I can see ia a small plug in the end of the 22 series drum unit but the 32 series drum unit is more than twice the price.Is there any other differences in these units ?

Aside from the keying on the front of the unit they are interchangeable. -
I don't think there is any difference other than the front plate. the early version of the 2228 didn't have a lube bar, but the updated part b1909510 has a lube bar just like 3228 one, but half the cost. I've been using the b1909510 exclusively for years.Comment

Isn't the charge roller cleaning roller different?
One has a black felt roller and the other has an white foam roller.

Been working on many of these machines since they were first launched and I've always used the J-C1 drum unit (B1909510) for both machines without any problems. Just remove the little blanking plate on the front.Comment
