[Misc] RICOH MP C2050 copier issue

    Hello there,

I've come up with a strange issue with a MP C2050 printing previously made copies all by herself after a few hours.

    It has happened two times.
The last time the "workflow" was the following:
1- Subject A made 8 copies of sheet A in the afternoon
2- Subject B made 1 copy of sheet B the next morning
    3- Subject B made 1 copy of sheet C
    4- Subject C made 1 copy of sheet D

After a few hours the machine printed without any user interaction, 5 sets of:
    8 copies of sheet A
    1 copy of sheet B
    1 copy of sheet C
    1 copy of sheet D

The client didn't use the "Save file" option.
The machine has Fax option Installed.

I've cleaned the memory chips, checked HDD connectors and I'm updating all firmware one by one.

    Hope you understood everything

    thanks

Using WIM look and see if anything is being stored on the HD. For instance in the Doc Server. When the HD is full, it will disgorge itself in a random fashion. I have seen this happen when fax forwarding is setup.
If it is receiving from a print server, that may be the issue. If possible, try using a standard TCP/IP connection.

If I remember correctly, this machine is using Fax forwarding, so Jomama's assumption might be correct.

But - and this is something I've been waiting to ask for a while - when using fax forwarding, how can we make the machine erase the jobs from HD automatically after a while (let's say, when a fax is 3 days old)? Is it at all possible?

User tools>Fax Features>Reception Features>Recep file settings> Set to Print instead of Store. It wont actually Print but it wont store on the HD either. To turn off Printing of the faxes, use parameter switch 11 bit 6 to 0. Clear the image file on the HD with Fax SP5102.

Also you may get an error if you do the parameter setting before the Ut setting. If so just turn it all off, including the destination and reinput everything.

          Jomma46 is correct.

USER TOOLS | FAX FEATURES | Parameter Setting | User Switch 11: set bit 6 to '0'
This will prevent printing of forward faxes.

USER TOOLS | FAX FEATURES | Parameter Setting | User Switch 14: set bit 2 to '0'
          This will disable batch transmissions

          USERS TOOLS | SYSTEM SETTINGS | ADMINISTRATOR | Auto Del Serv Doc Files| {Factory default is set to 3 days.}

And what about transmission and daily reports? Can they be sent via email or to a folder instead of printed on paper?
